About our tables

A walnut dining table from UPP Home is a solid wood table built to order in the size you choose, from a 42 x 30 inch kitchen table for two to a 95 x 40 inch table that seats ten. Most tables in this collection are solid European walnut, and a few designs are also offered in solid oak or chestnut. Customers have left 48 reviews on the tables in this collection, with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5.

What size walnut dining table do you need?

Plan on about 24 inches of table edge for each person. On our standard rectangular sizes that gives the seating below.

Table size Seats Typical room
42 x 30 in (107 x 76 cm) 2 Small kitchen or breakfast nook
60 x 30 in (152 x 76 cm) 4 Kitchen or small dining room
72 x 34 in (183 x 86 cm) 6 Most dining rooms
80 x 36 in (203 x 91 cm) 8 Larger dining room
95 x 40 in (240 x 101 cm) 10 Open plan room or long dining room

Leave about 36 inches between the table and the nearest wall or cabinet so chairs can be pulled out. Most of our dining tables stand 29.5 inches high, which works with standard dining chairs. For a small walnut kitchen table, the Nordica Scandinavian walnut kitchen table and the Pioneer live edge walnut table both start at 42 x 30 inches. Round tables come in 36 to 54 inch diameters, and our size guide explains how to measure your room.

Which walnut table styles can you choose from?

Modern, rustic or dark walnut?

Walnut works in very different rooms depending on the design. For a modern walnut dining table, choose clean lines and a slim profile, such as the Oslo, or a black or clear epoxy river. For a rustic walnut farmhouse table, choose a live edge top or a Parsons base, such as the Pioneer or the Noren. If you want a dark walnut dining table, a black epoxy river such as the Onyx or the Noir makes the walnut look deeper, while a clear river keeps the natural tone. Walnut grain and colour vary from board to board, and we send you photos of your finished table before it ships, so you see the actual top.

How much does a walnut dining table cost?

Size and style set the price. A small kitchen table costs much less than a 95 inch live edge or epoxy river table, and oval and sculptural designs sit at the top of the range. Every product page shows the price of each size before you order, and shipping is free to the United States and the United Kingdom.

How long does delivery take?

Every table is made to order. Building takes about 6 weeks and shipping about 2 weeks. With Expedite (+$199 per item) it takes about 3 weeks to build and 1 week in transit. Tables that are already in our New Jersey stock are listed under Ready to Ship. For those tables you can add white glove delivery ($199 per order, contiguous US), which brings the table into your room and assembles it. Our own team handles it in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, and a partner company does in other mainland states. Expedite and white glove can't be combined.

Can you buy a walnut dining table and chairs as a set?

We sell chairs separately, so you can order exactly the number you need and mix styles if you like. The Copenhagen turned walnut chair and the rest of our walnut dining chairs are made in the same wood as the tables.

Can you see a walnut table before you buy?

Yes. You can see our furniture and finishes up close at our showrooms in Somerset and Fairfield, New Jersey. The solid wood structure and joinery are covered by a 10-year warranty, and tables in a listed size can be returned within 30 days of delivery in the US and Canada.

Frequently asked questions

Is the walnut solid wood or veneer?
Tables named walnut are made of solid walnut, not veneer. The wood of every model is listed on its product page.
How many people does a 72 inch dining table seat?
A 72 x 34 inch table seats 6 people. For 8 people choose 80 x 36 inches, and for 10 people choose 95 x 40 inches.
What is the difference between a live edge and an epoxy river table?
A live edge table keeps the natural outer edge of the walnut slab. An epoxy river table joins two slabs with a band of clear or coloured resin down the middle. Many of our tables combine both.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes. We build custom sizes, leg heights, woods and finishes from a quote. Custom pieces can't be returned for a change of mind, so we confirm every measurement with you in writing before we start.
Does the table need assembly?
Yes, the legs attach with the hardware included. With white glove delivery, available for tables in our New Jersey stock, the delivery team assembles it for you.
Will a walnut table change colour over time?
Yes. Walnut slowly lightens in direct sunlight, which is normal for natural wood. Keeping the table out of strong sun slows the change.
