About our desks
A wooden standing desk is a desk with a real wood top on a frame that raises and lowers, so you can switch between sitting and standing while you work. Our Wooden Live Edge Standing Desk has a solid walnut live edge top on a LINAK electric lift frame, which changes the height at the touch of a button, in three sizes from 30 x 55 to 30 x 71 inches.
What makes this standing desk different?
Most standing desks use a laminate or veneer top. Ours pairs a solid walnut slab, with its natural edge and epoxy details, with a black LINAK DeskLift electric frame. Every top is cut from a different slab, so the grain and edge are your own, and the legs screw on in a few minutes. If you only need to raise your screen, the Wood Studio Desk Workstation in our desks collection is a fixed-height oak desk with a built-in monitor stand.
What size standing desk do you need?
| Size | Good for |
|---|---|
| 30 x 55 in (75 x 140 cm) | A laptop and one monitor |
| 30 x 63 in (75 x 160 cm) | Two monitors side by side |
| 30 x 71 in (75 x 180 cm) | Two monitors plus room for paperwork |
All three are 30 inches deep, which keeps the screen at a comfortable distance.
Is a solid wood top a good choice for a standing desk?
Yes, as long as the frame is rated for its weight. Solid walnut is heavier than laminate, which keeps the desk steady at standing height, and the electric frame carries the load. A real wood top also suits a home office better than plastic laminate, especially when the desk sits in a living space.
